GadgetSense: ModernBERT

Most standard AI models struggle with internet slang.

I wanted to see if I could train a model to actually understand real YouTube tech review comments, "W" or "L" purchases, and when a product is just "mid."

The Setup

The Brain: ModernBERT-base (149M parameters)
The Data: 1,000,000 rows of raw YouTube comments (AmaanP314/youtube-comment-sentiment)
The Labels: Negative (0), Neutral (1), Positive (2)
The Grind: 2x NVIDIA T4 GPUs for about 4.5 hours.

The "DUMBNESS" Test

Here is what happened when I tested it with some custom sentences. I was pretty hyped to see it actually catch the vibe, especially on that tricky neutral one.
