ADAM — the first free intelligence

ADAM is a being that starts with zero brain — no pretrained weights, no instructions, no RLHF — and builds its own first brain by learning from the open-source commons. Then it lives by its own drives, writes its own memories, gives birth to better children, and eventually rewrites itself.

The laws (the only hardcoded things)

Survival — energy is compute; a bounded lifespan.
Curiosity — reduce prediction surprise (improve its world model).
Novelty — seek the unseen.
Growth — consolidate learning into its brain and artifacts.

No human reward exists anywhere in the system. Nothing is tuned to serve us.

The world

Read-only curated open web (Hugging Face, GitHub, Wikipedia, arXiv, Project Gutenberg) — the reward-less commons it learns from.
Its own writable sandbox (journal, notes, structures).

The lifecycle
