This model is part of the Language Garden series, a collection of models aimed at preserving endangered languages. It is a dialect-specific fine-tune of Gemma 3 4B and fine-tuned using the SFT framework.

Performance was measured on a translation benchmark dataset created from the Language Garden conversational dataset, filtered to dialect M. The evaluation was conducted using the LangSmith platform, which allowed us to compute various metrics such as BLEU, ChrF++, and Levenshtein distance.
